SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to enable students to gain a multidimensional perspective on the concept of memory through discussions of space; it is intended for them to acquire knowledge about original creations and different forms of remembrance in the context of the concepts of human, space, and culture.
Course Content: In this course, under the topic of space and memory, the relationship between human, society, culture, and space is comprehensively examined. Cultural memory is discussed in the context of urban space and the representation of space.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Time establishes a relationship with space and memory. Analyze the effects of time on individual and collective memory.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Students will be able to analyze how urban space is represented and critically evaluate this language of representation through maps, photographs, and other visual tools.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) They can develop strategies for the definition and sustainability of cultural heritage and memory spaces.
