SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to provide a platform for students to discuss, evaluate and interpret essential topics of the communication discipline and media field through desginated key readings. Throughout the course, the goal is for the student to gain scientific subjectivity experience through contextualisation of theoretical topics.
Course Content: In this course, students interpret and evaluate essential discussions in communication and media studies. Students are expected to do research, produce writing and conduct discussions through designated concepts and keywords.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:

  1) Identifies every day reflections of communication theories in contemporary examples and provides crticism and interpretation.
  2) Applies various theoretical approaches in communication discpline both in historical and contemporary contexts.
