SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: In the Window Design course, the showcase, which is considered as a space; It is aimed to develop the ability to design functionally and aesthetically in accordance with basic design criteria.
Course Content: Window design parameters of the student in the Window Design course; It provides the most optimum result by making concept development, spatial arrangement, material selection, lighting and color selection decisions.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Analyze the existing showcase samples and analyze their suitability to the design parameters.
  2) Gains knowledge of the historical development and basic concepts of the showcase.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Considering the harmony of the showcase with the brand and the customer base, it reveals the most suitable design that meets the design criteria.
  2) Can transfer his/her knowledge about spatial arrangement, material selection, lighting to the window design.
  3) It can adapt other inspired window designs or details in any space design to its own application.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Manages his/her time within the framework of project responsibilities
  2) He/She applies universal ethical values in her projects.
