GENERAL INFORMATION

Today, besides making a decision on the design of a building, architecture and interior architecture work as two disciplines in planning the structure and the environment we live in. Architects mostly responsible that, the solutions of problems related to the planning and construction of a building, according to its purpose and scope of use while Interior architects mostly responsible that, the reuse of old and new buildings, the arrangement and furnishing of interior spaces. Architecture is more related to the whole, interior architecture is related piece . Working areas of interior architecture; to make economic, functional and unique designs in the arrangement of interior and close surroundings of a living environment, according to past, future and present time periods; to give innovations and dynamism to the profession with original solutions in space and furniture designing issues and also to contribute to the environmental and social problems of the age in we live. Interior architects begins from part of a single furniture design to part of the building is in the workplace to handle the whole body and its immediate surroundings. It is the prime component of the growing awareness of the discipline of interior architecture and environmental design within indoor enclosures restricted by building elements, heating and cooling systems, electrical installations, sustainable and innovative building systems, installation solutions, identification of building materials. In addition, it can be said that the place is arranged by considering the factors such as material, color, texture, form, ratio, measure that the person needs to function in accordance with visual perception, human comfort and in accordance with the psychology of space.

Beykoz University Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department is starting to educate with a 4 year undergraduate program in 2018-2019 Education and Training Year. In addition to the need for unique space designs required by the Undergraduate Programme, the demands of the construction and furniture sector and the companies providing services to different sectors, mostly for more comfort and prestige,the necessity of new interior and environment designs is becoming necessary. Interior Architecture and Enviromental Design License Programme is planned to educate the interior designers and environmental designers who are in need of the programme in the sector. The Undergraduate Program prepares students for their professional lives as well as their general culture as well as vocational and conceptual courses covering comprehension, comprehension, detailing and implementation.
