SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: To provide students with an understanding of the concept of quality through the basic principles of management and organization; and to provide a holistic perspective on improving the management quality of institutions by recognizing national and international management system standards, excellence models and other management frameworks.
Course Content: This course explores the development of the concept of quality, starting with the fundamental principles of management and organization, national and international quality standards, and excellence models. ISO management system standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 10002, etc.), the EFQM Excellence Model, the Baldrige Model, and other management frameworks are examined to provide a holistic perspective on improving management quality. Supported by exemplary applications and current developments from various sectors, the course aims to equip students with the ability to understand and evaluate a quality-focused management approach.
