| Course Objectives: |
The aim of the course is to enable students to understand how gender shapes social life and politics. By engaging both global and local perspectives, students will critically examine the importance of gender equality and learn to connect key concepts with contemporary examples. |
| Course Content: |
This course provides an introduction to the study of gender and equality. It explores the conceptual foundations, historical background, and theoretical approaches to gender, as well as themes such as power, inequality, rights, relationships, sexuality, and violence. In the second half, the course focuses on labor, politics, and representation, while also examining the Turkish context, including feminist movements, the Istanbul Convention, and anti-gender discourses. |
