PROGRAMME PROFILE

The Undergraduate Program in Graphic Design at Beykoz University is a bachelor’s degree program based on the discipline of visual communication within the field of art and design. The program is defined at the first cycle level within the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA), and at Level 6 within the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL), the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF), and the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) as a knowledge-oriented bachelor’s degree program.

The academic and professional orientation of the program is based on integrating theoretical knowledge and practice-based educational processes in the field of graphic design.

The program is positioned at the intersection of visual communication, design, art, and graphic arts, and is structured within a framework that is related to current developments and application areas in the field.

The educational approach of the program is based on the integration of theoretical and applied learning processes.

The targeted student profile consists of individuals who are interested in graphic design and visual communication, possess artistic and aesthetic sensitivity, and are open to creative thinking.

Program-Specific Criteria

The criteria listed below are defined to present the academic orientation and distinctive characteristics of the program and do not constitute a repetition of program learning outcomes or program educational objectives.

PSC-1: The integrated treatment of the fundamental art and design foundation of graphic design is ensured through the courses Desen I–II (Drawing I–II), Temel Tasarım I–II (Basic Design I–II), Graphic Design Studio I–IV, and Art History.

PSC-2: The structuring of design production processes within a studio-based and progressive framework is ensured through the courses Graphic Design Studio I–IV and Project Design.

PSC-3: The systematic inclusion of visual communication, typography, and publication design within the program structure is ensured through the courses Typography I–II, Editorial Design, and Information Design.

PSC-4: The integration of digital design and new media applications into the program curriculum is ensured through the courses Graphic Animation Design I–II, Web Design, and Advertising Graphics.

PSC-5: The support of the design process through creative production, interdisciplinary approach, and practical experience is ensured through the courses Illustration I–II, Graphic Production Techniques, Interdisciplinary Design, Portfolio Design, and Workplace Training.
